MAPPING MATTERS.
PART TWO.
EXPLORING.

Part One (Mapping) Part two of this project (Exploring) is more than just a web archive of designers, studios, and projects–it’s an immersive visual guide that blends research, storytelling, essential skills, and industry insights of those that inspire and inform my journey in design. By making this resource interactive and expansive, I aim to provide others with a tool to navigate and find inspiration in the design industry.

Otl Aicher

Designer
1922 – 1991

Aicher was a German graphic designer and typographer best known for his 1972 Munich Olympic Games designs, Braun corporate identity, Lufthansa identity, and the Rotis typeface. In 1953, Aicher co-founded and taught at the Ulm School of Design, one of Germany’s leading educational design centres until its closure in 1968.

Aicher is considered a pioneer of corporate design, with his heavily structured and simplistic designs that stand the test of time. His use of geometric forms, vivid colours, balanced structure, and visual warmth leaves a lasting impression on the viewer. Aicher’s Metro Bilbao signage system and 1972 Munich Olympic Games designs are my favourite works, inspiring lots of my projects.
